Pattaya - Eastcoast Thailand
Pattaya offers year-round kitesurfing opportunity with moderate to highwind of 8 to 20 knots. Peak seasons are summer (March to May) with Northwest side-onshore; and winter (December to February) offering an easy-to-learn west onshore wind at knee-deep water. Three launch spots and kitesurfing clubs offer training and equipment rental and sales, for beginner to advance level surfers. On a light-wind day, things to do include bowling, golfing, cable skiing, shooting, shopping, and cultural activities.
HuaHin - Westcoast Thailand
One of early-days kitesurfing spots in Thailand is Hua Hin. With wide and long white sand beach offers all level kitesurfers fun and memorable experience six months a year. Approximately four-mile long with three kitesurfing schools offering lessons and equipment rental. HuaHin kitesurfing season starts from December to May. East and Northeast winds of 8 to 20 knots blowing from December to February, with small surf like a ramp for Big-Air tricks . From March to May winds change to 10-18 knots from Southeast with small shore-breaks to flat water, and wider beach . At night HuaHin offers good seafoods and a 'not-to-miss' HuaHin night market showcasing authentic Thai food, fruits and desserts.
Baan Krut.
Baan Krut is about 100 kilometers south of HuaHin. It is considered a new beach town with limited amenities but providing great relaxing admosphere. With average wind speed of 15-25 knots in high season, and about knee to chest deep water level, it is certainly a great kitesufing spot for all level kitesurfers. Everything here including food and accomodation are reasonably inexpensive. If you are looking for a place to enjoy the natural setting, sharpen your kitesuring skill where not many people can see and criticize your move, or drop like a rock to the water, Baan Krut must be one of your kitesurfing destinations in Thailand.
